Back at Home

I'm back at home, and I plan to use this section to update the website with data and gear as well as let others know what it's like adjusting back to the real world after a thru-hike.

For now, I can relate to this quote:

The only thing more difficult than adjusting to life in the woods, is readjusting to life indoors.Appalachian Trials
Thru-hiking changes your perspective. I'm appreciative but everything seems so easy and too comfortable.

I had lunch with a friend, and I mentioned to him how I was cognizant that the waitress had just served us fresh, ice-cold, drinking water. Most people don't give it a second thought. On the trail, however, I had to find and filter my own water for 5 months!

Everything feels convenient. it's hard not to think about how soft and comfy we can become in the the civilized world.
